Zamfara APC Hails Yari, Matawalle Appointments to Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Council

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has applauded the appointment of former Governor of the state, Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, to the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

Senator Yari was appointed Director-General of the Council, while Matawalle was named Deputy Director in charge of Security and Intelligence.

The state APC Chairman, Kabiru Moyi Birnin-Magaji, described the appointments as a welcome development and a good omen for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, the chairman said the APC family in Zamfara received the announcement with gratitude to God and appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said the wealth of political and administrative experience possessed by the two appointees would contribute significantly to the success of the presidential campaign.

According to him, the active involvement of Senator Yari and Minister Matawalle in the campaign council would not only strengthen President Tinubu’s re-election bid but also enhance the prospects of APC candidates across Zamfara State.

The chairman expressed confidence that their appointment, coupled with the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal in the state, would further strengthen the party and contribute to its success at all levels.

He commended President Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC for recognising the capabilities and experience of the two Zamfara politicians.

Kabiru Moyi Birnin-Magaji congratulated Senator Yari and Minister Matawalle on their appointments, describing them as well-deserved recognition of their contributions to the party.

He assured the Presidential Campaign Council of the continued support and cooperation of the Zamfara State APC, saying the party would work with the council to achieve the desired results in the 2027 elections.

The chairman also prayed for Allah’s guidance and success for the APC at all levels.

The SARMAAN Project has reached 15.76 million unique children aged 1–59 months across ten northern states in Nigeria between 2024 and 2026, administering over 26 million doses of Azithromycin in targeted interventions aimed at reducing preventable childhood illnesses and deaths.
