ADC Mourns Victims of Bungudu Attack, Calls for Chairman's Safe Rescue

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Zamfara State Chapter, under the leadership of Hon. Kabiru Garba Gusau, has expressed its deepest condolences to the people of Bungudu Local Government Area, the family of the Executive Chairman of Bungudu LGA,  Nura Umar (Nura NU), the Zamfara State Government, the Bungudu Local Government Council, and the Zamfara State Police Command over the tragic security incident that occurred at the Chairman's residence.

In a statement, Kabiru Garba Gusau said the party was deeply saddened by the loss of a police officer and a vigilante member who reportedly lost their lives in the line of duty during the attack. He noted that their sacrifice in protecting lives and property would always be remembered.

The ADC prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives their shortcomings, grants them Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives their families the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.

The party also prayed for the speedy and complete recovery of the Chairman's elder brother, who is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gusau, asking Almighty Allah to grant him perfect healing.

The statement strongly condemned all acts of violence and criminality against innocent citizens and public officials. It called on the relevant security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the safe release of Hon. Nura Umar if he remains in captivity and to ensure that those responsible for the attack are apprehended and brought to justice.

The ADC further expressed solidarity with the people of Bungudu Local Government Area and the Zamfara State Government during this difficult period, praying for lasting peace and improved security across the state.

The party concluded by praying that Almighty Allah continues to protect Zamfara State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Ameen.

The SARMAAN Project has reached 15.76 million unique children aged 1–59 months across ten northern states in Nigeria between 2024 and 2026, administering over 26 million doses of Azithromycin in targeted interventions aimed at reducing preventable childhood illnesses and deaths.
