Shinkafi Front Backs Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Dauda Lawal reelection, Warns Against Anti-Party Activities

The Wamban Shinkafi Democratic Front in Zamfara State has called on its members across the state to refrain from engaging in anti-party activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, while declaring full support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal.

The leader of the Front and former APGA governorship candidate, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, popularly known as Wamban Shinkafi, made the call while during a major stakeholders’ meeting in Gusau.

Dr. Shinkafi described anti-party activities as acts of betrayal and deceit in politics, urging members to remain loyal and work towards the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels.

Dr Abdullahi Shinkafi who is an APC Stalwart declared that, Governor Dauda Lawal’s defection to the APC marks the beginning of a new political era in Zamfara State ahead of the 2027 elections. 


According to him, the essence of the meeting was to formally welcome the governor into the APC fold.

“Our meeting today is historic, as we gather to welcome His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, into the APC. This signals the beginning of a new era in Zamfara State as we prepare for 2027,” Shinkafi stated.

He emphasized that, unity and patriotism remain the foundation for the party’s success, urging both old and new members to close ranks.

“The defection of Governor Dauda Lawal to the APC is a testament to the party’s growing strength in the state. It clearly shows that the APC is the party to win in 2027,” 

Shinkafi also cautioned party members against divisive rhetoric, stressing the need for collective interest over personal ambitions.


“We must remain united for the success of the party and the progress of the state. Personal interests should not override our shared goals,” he said.

He commended Governor Lawal’s performance since assuming office, describing his administration as a rescue mission that has impacted key sectors.

He cited achievements in infrastructure, including the construction of roads, Airport, schools, and hospitals, as well as efforts in pension settlement reportedly exceeding ₦13 billion.


“Governor Dauda has made significant strides across critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, security, the civil service, road networks, water resources, and youth empowerment,” Shinkafi noted.

The Front’s leader, however, charged supporters to intensify grassroots mobilization for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and a second term for Governor Dauda Lawal in 2027.

“I urge all our supporters to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 presidential bid and Governor Dauda Lawal’s re-election, to enable the government deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of Zamfara State,” Shinkafi said.

He added that alignment with the federal government would attract more developmental projects and enhance security in the state.

The SARMAAN Project has reached 15.76 million unique children aged 1–59 months across ten northern states in Nigeria between 2024 and 2026, administering over 26 million doses of Azithromycin in targeted interventions aimed at reducing preventable childhood illnesses and deaths.
