ZAMFARA APC SET TO FORMALLY RECEIVE GOVERNOR DAUDA LAWAL

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded arrangements to formally receive the State Governor, Dauda Lawal, into the party.

The reception, scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, is expected to be attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who will be represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima. 

According to the statement, the event will also be graced by national executives of the party and key political figures within and outside the state.

Among dignitaries expected are former Zamfara State Governors, including Bello Mohammed Matawalle and Abdul'aziz Yari Abubakar, alongside other prominent stakeholders such as Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi. Also expected are former deputy governors, lawmakers, and notable APC chieftains including Aminu Sani Jaji and Sahabi Yau.

In a statement, the APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris Gusau, said the party has finalized strategies to mobilise supporters across the state to ensure a smooth and successful reception.

He added that various committees have been constituted to oversee different aspects of the event and guarantee a hitch-free exercise.

It will be recalled that Governor Lawal recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

The party has also held a stakeholders’ meeting where members were selected from each of the 14 local government areas to coordinate mobilisation efforts at the grassroots level.

The APC has therefore called on all members, supporters, and well-wishers to come out en masse to welcome the President, who will be represented by the Vice President, at the grand reception.

World Health Day 2026: SARMAAN Project Reaches 15.76 Million Children, Reinforces Commitment to Child Survival

The SARMAAN Project has reached 15.76 million unique children aged 1–59 months across ten northern states in Nigeria between 2024 and 2026, administering over 26 million doses of Azithromycin in targeted interventions aimed at reducing preventable childhood illnesses and deaths.
